In this article I will give you my thoughts on two of the most popular self defense products, pepper spray and the key chain kubotan. I get many questions as to which product is best or which one I suggest. I thought it best to share my thoughts here so you can share with your friends and family.

The pepper sprays. The benefit to having this sleek looking inexpensive product is that it can be used at a distance. This is important for those who have moved past the days of having something to prove and now choose to do things without as much effort. If you are into keyring type pepper sprays, there are many styles, colors and sizes to choose from (see link below). They also work well on animals, for those living close to the mountains. The drawback is in a windy environment, you do stand a chance of "tasting your own medicine." Note that the chemical within these products are designed to inflame bodily tissue and cause chocking so being aware of your surroundings is a must.

Moving right along, let us cover the kubatons. These are for those that do not mind getting a little close and personal, because there is no spray involved that will afford you distance like the pepper sprays. If you want to cause maximum pain without expending much effort, then I suggest the "Ninja Style" kubotan. It boils down to personal preference. The applications for this product are many but here is the bottom line. With a little knowledge on how to use this, you can turn yourself into an inconvenient target, which is your primary objective in self defense. We are here to help.

So which one is better, you may ask? That depends on what you feel will work best for your particular situation. The drawback with the kubotan is, you will not have as much distance between yourself and your attacker. However, used the right way, you will be able to create the distance you need to get away. Here is an idea, why not have both? For the price, these are two of the best products of protection to have for under $20

I hope this was helpful, as you can never have too much information when it comes to self protection and the protection of your loved ones. This is your Minister of Defense. Thanks for reading.

As a decorated 10 year US Air Force veteran with training from all around the world in Jiujitsu, I want to help. I have taken all my years of training and distilled only what really works and created a system of simple yet effective techniques that anyone can learn. My passion is to help men, women and children learn these simple techniques, thereby making you more prepared if an attack should occur.

The Ideal Indian Women - Then And Now

Who exactly is the Indian woman? Is she the sari-clad, tradition-embracing and culture-steeped stereotype featuring in most 'K-serials' or the booty-shaking, skimpily clad glamour doll heroine of the modern Indian cinema?

As Bollywood toys with the identity of the modern Indian woman, there seems to be a radical shift in the social and cultural context too. Courtesy Bollywood, the average urban Indian is more tolerant towards conversations involving sex, homosexuality, sex education and the likes. The image of the perfect Indian woman too has transformed. Here are a few observations.

Back Then:

1. 'Women from good families' were supposed to be shy, demure and covered from head to toe. Any expression that had the slightest tinge of sexual passion was a strict no-no. And yes, no sex before marriage!
2. Women were ideally supposed to marry the very first man they met or fell in love with and consider themselves doomed if that does not happen for some reason. Suicidal attempts resulting from unrequited love/betrayal were not uncommon.
3. Wet saris and rain dances were the farthest you could go to look sensual or sexy (until Zeenat Aman trotted across the screen in a bikini)
4. If you touched alcohol or tobacco or even hung around with people who did, your reputation was in dire straits.
5. Nice girls were the ones that shunned fashion, partying, clubbing, fast bikes and naughty boys. A simpering, helpless miss was every man's dream.

Now:

1. The limits of modernity are defined by partying, negligible clothes and loud behavior. It is perfectly acceptable (and rather normal) to switch relationships and partners every few months. That's life on the fast track!
2. Pre-marital sex and live-in relationships are as acceptable as the song and dance routines.
3. Conservative clothing is only for wimps, doormats and victims of abuse.
4. Wet saris have given way to thongs, bikinis and what have you (and they are not an exclusive forte of the vamp or the 'other woman').
5. Women have become increasingly independent though it still helps to simper and act helpless every once in a while.

But can skimpy clothes and a footloose lifestyle be counted as sole indicators of women's liberation? Aren't we missing an important point here?

Evening Dresses For Fashionista Summer Nights

It's the beach during the day but it's strictly romantic evening dresses for summer cocktails and formal dinner dates. But it becomes a challenge to choose the perfect dress from a rack of evening dresses if you want to impress someone or hope someone will see you beyond your beach bum image.

Be a Vision of Loveliness

Summer is always the most romantic time for love to blossom; now you know why your step is lighter when you step out to enjoy a day and countless weekends at the beach. That's fine but it can be bore spending days at the beach. Switch your two-piece to one of those irresistible evening dresses that shows off your curves in a different skin. You might be surprised that men can be doubly charmed when their date is dressed to the nines that show off their feminine curves regally.

Trendy evening dresses for today's younger set can be anything from a tea-length dress or a floor length creation. For cool summer nights, tea-length chic is the perfect choice. It's not too formal yet it gives you the sweet look you want for a summer night date. Your choice of color should reflect the joie de vivre of summer - fruity colors and blues of sky and sea. Wear it with the right accessories and the right hair style; you can surprise everyone with your look - a vision of stylish loveliness.

The floor length evening dress has more dramatic effect. You can choose to be quirky, provocative and whimsical and ooze with feminine charm every turn. The secret is in the details of the dress. Strapless and haltered tops and plunging necklines are eye-popping styles are best for summer evenings for a formal or not too formal function. You bet; you'll be the belle's belle of the ball.

Summer in Your Evening Dresses

The color pink is hot; still you can personalize your style. Go girl for candy colors and see your beauty points zoom up the fashion scale. But don't forget to choose colors that flatter your coloring but take care to choose colors that show well in evening illumination. That's the secret to choosing colors for your fashionista togs. Walk tall with your chin up. Haven't you notice how those glam girls ramp their designer creations?

Show off your assets. If you have it, flaunt it in style. One mistake young misses make is overdoing their flaunting. Cool it. Remind yourself that this is a formal event not a street fest. Choose sheer skirts over tight dresses and pulse-quickening halters, these are more regal looking and with the right frills, you become a picture of summer cool.

There's no stopping you from trying new styles. It might be risky though. Think about it, will your date be impressed with black and brown roses on that chiseled dress? That's a thought. If you are not confident with risqué designs, stick to the predictable styles. Predictable as these evening dresses go, they transform your entirely to a vision of poetic symmetry. Did you hear you date sigh with relief?

To decide which of the evening dresses to add to your summer wardrobe, check out the designer collections from different online fashion shops. You can see for yourself how the dress looks before you order the best one.

Best for Bride - Wedding Dresses and Bridesmaid Dresses
5359 Dundas St. West (at Kipling)
Etobicoke, ON, Canada, M9B 1B1

Dare to Get Pretty Hair With These Tips!

If you have ever had the experience of watching a woman getting ready, you would not be shocked to hear that women are actually fussy about their hair cut and hairstyles. Women spend hours in order to make their hair look beautiful and luscious. It is a very common observation that men generally fall for a woman who has pretty hair and who knows how to carry her hair well in different occasions.

There are only a few of us who are blessed with hair that are naturally lustrous and pretty looking. As such, most of us actually require tips and guidelines to maintain beautiful hair in this polluted environment. Women try to follow all the latest trends and do not even miss a single beauty product that they feel can actually make their hair look pretty. As it is commonly said, a woman`s hair is her crowning glory, and believe me this is one statement women take very seriously!!

The most effective way of keeping your hair healthy is regular washing and conditioning. It is important to maintain the moisture of the hair and for that women should take up deep conditioning of hair at least once a week. Women should generally prefer conditioning and cleansing products that are suitable for their own hair. For example, women with dry and frizzy hair should use a heat-activated or thermal conditioning treatment for most effective results. A conditioner containing keratin is also recommended for all types of hair.

Another vital requirement is to keep the hair away from heat and chemicals as much as possible. The hot tools should be strictly avoided as they play a major role in damaging the hair. However, if there is a need to use a curling iron or a flat iron, it is always preferable to use it on a recently conditioned hair in order to minimize all the damaging effects. Chemical relaxers and harsh dyes are also to be avoided as they turn the hair frizzy and uncontrollable.

It is always advisable to keep the hairline smooth and healthy. This helps to retain the moisture in the hair and prevents the hair from looking burnt. Hence. The best option is to wrap the hair in a scarf each night, which can keep your hairstyle in shape while you sleep. Silk and satin scarfs are the most sought after ones as they reduce the breakage to a large extent and do not pull each strand as you sleep. However, it is preferable to use a conditioning serum (your hair type) on the hair ends and comb the hair properly putting it in a wrap.

Like the front page of a newspaper is the loud evidence of its fame and popularity, similarly hair of a woman speaks volume of her beauty and boldness. It is believed that a woman`s glory is in her hair and so many cultures have even made it mandatory for women to keep their hair hidden. Hair is important to a woman because it defines her appearance and it is a proven fact that your looks play a very important role in boosting your self-confidence and self respect.

While taking care of the hair, there are also certain myths that need to be avoided. For instance, daily shampooing of the hair will never make the hair dry, as is the general myth. Similarly the trimming of the hair will not lead to a faster hair growth and brushing of hair would not lead to much hair loss. All such myths are nothing but wastage of time and hence require to be ignored.

Big Step For Women Business Owners

As we reach the end of October (2009), Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I'd like to share a story with you that does not involve one specific woman, but women as a community and an entity.

Last week I was given the opportunity not only to be a speaker at the Women's Business Development Conference & Expo, but to experience the event from participants' point of view as well. I have to say, I was very proud to take part in this event; I was proud to be part of the great effort to advance women in the business world. The women business owners' conference left us with a message to the professional world that women are here and we mean business. The Women's Business Development Center, with the help of Office Depot and other corporations, put together a business expo for women business owners, bringing in a great turnout of professional women.

Between meeting exciting, new people, attending my booth, giving a speech, listening to other amazing speakers and even taking part in business match-making sessions, I could barely take in everything that was out there. But as I stopped to take a deep breath and a mental break, I stumbled across a huge realization: This was one of the greatest "wow" moments of my career. I was absolutely inspired by the large and diverse congregation of independent, strong women and even more amazed by the great support we were receiving from executives and top corporations. It felt good, as a woman, to finally receive recognition for women's collective efforts to make women a part of the foundation of the business world. To think of how much society and popular thought has changed just in my lifetime is a bit unbelievable and yet here I was in a beautiful venue, with the latest and greatest technology and some of the most important corporate figures in South Florida, all brought together with great opportunities to follow up with.

It was no accident that the event took place in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In this month we remind ourselves of the ongoing collective battle women are having against breast cancer. So as the month comes to an end and the pink ribbons begin to disappear off of store shelves and sides of busses, I would like to leave you with a this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

A Personal Hand Alarm Adds Another Dimension to Self Protection

I remember an unfortunate incident during my college days when I had an encounter with a robber. I was on the bus talking with a friend on my cell phone when a man sat down beside me. "No worries," I said to myself because the man looked well mannered and harmless.

After a few minutes, while threatening me with a knife he quietly demanded my cell phone. Scared to death, I instinctively gave it to him. For maximum protection, you need to have a security weapons to defend yourself from harm too.

An excellent addition to your protection arsenal to consider is a Mace pepper spray gun.

Unlike other self defense weapons like a stun gun, kuboatan or knife that require close contact with an attacker, with the Mace pepper gun you can effortlessly deploy a potent Oleoresin Capsicum formula or OC up to 25 feet so you do not need to be near an attacker. For accuracy, a trigger activated, battery operated LED light for precision aim is included.

There are four colors available: pink, silver, sky blue and blue/black.

Additionally you can choose two types of replaceable spray cartridge refills; OC refills and H2O (water) practice refills, each cartridge contains up to seven 25 foot blasts.

In any danger situation, the element of surprise is essential to effectively defend yourself. They cook, clean, raise the kids, work and volunteer in their churches and/or communities. This is the 21st Century feminist.

Feminism of the early 19th and 20th centuries espoused the rights of women to have a voice and thus to choose what they wanted to do with their lives: work or get married and have children. Women like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Charlotte Perkins Gilman weren't necessarily fighting for equality of the sexes, but rather the right of a woman to create her own destiny in a time that determined it for her: the silent, reproductive woman.

The feminism of the mid 20th Century saw a major shift in ideology with the advent of technology. They wanted equality across the board. That meant access to jobs traditionally belonging to men, equal pay for equal work and being sexually free and choosing to not have a family. This Helen Gurley Brown generation supposedly burned their bras as a testament to how strongly they believed the Declaration of Independence was also talking about them when it said all "men" are created equal: men meaning humankind.

It's 2009. Where is feminism now? Did women get their equal rights? According to a 2005 research report by the American Academy of University Women, "women working full time earn about 75 percent of what men working full time earn." Health wise, women still live longer than men, but "Each year about 55,000 more women than men have strokes, and about 60 percent of total stroke deaths occur in women." With regards to corporate America, they say the glass ceiling has finally been broken, yet "Currently, 12 FORTUNE 500 companies are run by women, and a total of 24 FORTUNE 1000 companies have women in the top job." Teen pregnancy rates have been fluctuating over the last 10 years, but the STD rates are higher than ever it seems. In fact, 1 in 4 teen girls has an STD, according to the Center for Disease Control. Finally, the national divorce rate is still at 50% and the number one reason for divorce is...finances. Yet, the dating services industry is a multi-million industry.

Is this the end result of the equality so hard fought over the last 200 plus years? Today, if a woman decides to leave her career and be a stay at home mom, women in her own circle call her "nuts." If she decides to put the kids in daycare and go back to work, many in her circle say she must not love her children, or she's touted as a superwoman...a role model even...until she dies of a stroke.

This seems to be the feminism of the 21st Century: the Superwoman. But in an effort to be the superwoman who has it all and can do it all, women are dying physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially by the minute. Kryptonite - the career, volunteer work, the family - the feminism of today - is killing superwoman. What are we going to do about it? What can we do about it?

Estrogen - Hormones Imbalance

Do you sometimes feel that your fatigue is something else, and that the reason for having delayed menstrual periods is something other than the possibility of a pregnancy? Are you worried that not being able to sleep at night is something more than just too much stress? Well, probably, what you're feeling could be due to outside influences (let's never discount that as a possibility), but let's not forget the likelihood of perimenopause. Estrogen and progesterone are main protagonists for what we now know as a hormone imbalance.

Perimenopause is usually caused by an estrogen dominance and a lack of progesterone. The body has an excess of estrogen because both estrogen and progesterone production in the ovaries slow down considerably. In reality, a woman's hormones can be nudged off track by a lot of things - stressful events, vitamin deficiencies and illness. This is the time when the hormones grow quite vulnerable; hence, the rampage of the hormone named estrogen.

There are times when there is a lack of estrogen - this will influence the fluctuations of the periods. It will also cause most of the perimenopausal symptoms known as of press time (aside from the irregularity of the menses) - vaginal dryness and irritation, hot flashes, breast tenderness, hair loss (or hair gain in the most unsightly places), urinary tract problems, etc.

Unfortunately, we can do nothing about preventing our hormones to go off balance. Perimenopause is simply a cycle of life that we, as women, just have to go through. In reality, this stage toughens us up, so that when menopause comes around, we're more than ready for it, and our gracefully aging (ahem!) bodies are prepared to take whatever hormone imbalance there could be.

The best way to counter the ill-effects of estrogen and progesterone imbalance would be first and foremost, to have yourself checked out by your doctor (preferably a gynecologist) or health care provider. He or she would possibly ask you to go through some tests just to rule out any underlying medical conditions (which may be causing the symptoms you're having in the first place).

The next and best step (aside from taking the prescription medication your doctor may give you to alleviate and relieve some of the symptoms) would be to have a change of lifestyle. To sum it all up - eat healthy, quit smoking, eliminate alcohol (if at all possible) and exercise daily. Do this, and you shall be free.

Full Lace Wigs - Tips and Tricks

a) Tips and Tricks for Liquid Bonding Adhesives:

Below, a list of helpful tips to help you achieve the strongest and most secure bond possible.

When applying the liquid adhesive, only use thin, even coats. If you are using a brush, use a paint movement with your hand in both directions - horizontal and vertical. If more adhesive is desired, use thin multiple coats, but make sure the previous coat is dry before applying the next coat.

Never try to apply liquid bond directly to a lace system. Instead, apply it on your scalp and place the unit on your head. Always clean and prepare your scalp properly, with skin shield before attaching your full lace wig. Skin shield is a product, that provides a protective barrier against dermal irritation, while enhancing the effectiveness of skin-safe liquid or tape adhesives.

After showering or working out, the bond of your full lace wig will seem like it is weakening, which is expected, then even if your hair system is still attached securely, the bond will soften a bit, due to extra heat and moisture, do not touch the unit then, because as your body cools, the bond will harden again.

Airborne dust, make-up will attach itself to the adhesive in the front and side edges of lace units and may become visible over time. Immediately after a shower is the easiest time to clean this area because the hairpiece adhesive is pliable. Spray a liberal amount of Adjust-a-Bond on the tip of a double folded tissue. Hold your hair back with one hand and wipe the edge of the lace using the saturated tissue with the other hand.
This trick will help keep your lace front and side edges invisible at all times.

b) Tips and Tricks to avoid shedding

Below, a list of helpful tips to avoid excessive shedding.

Some light shedding is normal, however, your full lace wig should not shed anymore then our own hair would.

DO NOT put any hair products that contain a high percentage of alcohol (like some hair spray, spritz, etc...) directly into the hair of your full lace wig. These products will damage the hair and cause excessive shedding).

When going to sleep wearing your full lace wig, always braid up the hair or at least put it in a pony tail so it will not tangle up, while you sleep. Best is for you to wrap a scarf around your head or to wear a hair bonnet, while you are asleep,(see below section: Tips and Tricks to avoid damages while sleeping). This will prevent the hair of your full lace wig from breakage and shedding.

When swimming wearing your full lace wig, keep in mind that chlorine, and salt water can damage the hair of the unit, therefore wear a swim cap or wash your full lace wig after each swim session. NEVER let chlorine and/or salt water stay in the hair of your full lace wig,as it will damage the hair of your unit irreversibly.

Reseal the knots located on the inside of your full lace wig cap, after each and every wash, with some knot sealer. This will strengthen the knots on each hair strand and protect your full lace wig from excessive shedding.

c) Tips and Tricks for Curly, Deep Wave and Wavy Styles

Below, a moisturizer tip for Full lace wigs with a Curly, Deep Wave, Wavy Style.

Wash and rinse your full lace wig gently but thoroughly, then spray until saturation, with a,1/4 Dove Moisturizing Conditioner, 1/4 of Glycerin and 2/4 plain water mixture*. Using a loop brush, brush it into shape. Cover your full lace wig with a hair net, and let it dry on top of a wig head. Once dry and you begin to wear it, you spray lightly with above mixture every 2-3 days or as needed. This will restore the initial shape, bounce and shine of the curls and/or the waves.

*1/3 of Sunsilk Captivating Curls Lotion, 1/3 of glycerin and 1/3 of plain water mixture.

d) Tips and Tricks for a long-lasting full lace wig

The key factor in full lace wig care and maintenance, is to understand that your full lace wig is made of human hair, that is approximately 4 years old. Since hair grows on average a half inch per month, one year equates out to 6 inches. So since on the average 24 inches long hair is used to make a 20 inch unit, it is safe to say, that the hair of your unit has been exposed to the elements a minimum of 4 years, and now that hair has been removed from its nutrient source, to be made into your fabulous full lace wig, care and maintenance become that hair life support.

Five main tools are required to properly care for your full lace wig: Shampoo, Conditioner, a rake, your pillow case and your hair wrap. These are the 5 key players and unfortunately not all options are created equally.

A good rule of thumb for shampoo or conditioner is that if it costs between $10.00 and $20.00 for 8.5 oz then you have the right stuff. Since the shampoo and conditioner are keys to protecting the hair natural oils, these are two items that you will be best to invest into.

Beyond washing your unit, you are going to style it and that is where the Rake comes in. Brushes and combs provide too much tension on the hair and will cause breakage and shedding. Use a Rake or even a Pick and toss the brush and comb and you will reduce greatly the tension put on the hair and the knots while styling your unit and therefore your full lace wig will last longer.

e) Tips and Tricks to avoid damages of your full lace wig while sleeping

Below a tip that is essential when asleep while wearing your hair unit

If you are wearing your full lace wig to bed, you must choose to follow those sleep habits, to avoid damaging the hair of your unit.

Use a wrap. Having the hair wrapped in a satin or silk wrap will reduce frictions on your unit when you move your head in your sleep. Also use a pillow case in satin or silk. The key here is that the pillow case MUST be the same material as your wrap. If your hair is wrapped in satin, have a satin pillow case. If the hair is wrapped in silk, have a silk pillow case. This will reduce greatly the tension and resistance between the two fabrics, avoid the occasional breakage and allows the hair to remain protected, while you sleep.

f) Tips and Tricks for cold temperature

Below, a tip to keep the hair of your full lace wig beautiful and strong

Cold temperature, specially dry cold weather can damage, tangle and in some cases damage your hair unit irreversibly. Luckily, there are fantastic products on the market that can protect your hair from harsh drying climates. Hair Conditioning treatments, Hair Damage Repair kit , are an excellent for replenishing and protecting the hair of your full lace wig. Whichever brand your choose to use on your hair unit, it is ESSENTIAL that you make sure, that the product is free from alcohol.

Whenever the hair of your full lace wig is a bit dry or if you want to ensure it will be protected from the elements follow these simple steps:

1. Remove hair unit and wash gently.
2. Apply a Hair Damage Repair or another high end conditioning treatment formulated for hair moisture replenishment. Do NOT use protein enriched conditioners.
3. Put your full lace wig in a plastic bag and place in a warm area of your home. Do NOT microwave or apply direct heat, as it will damage your unit.
4. Allow the bag to sit for 24 hours, then remove and rinse hair thoroughly in lukewarm water and allow to air dry.
If you are wearing your hair unit full time, repeat this process every three weeks. Beware! There is a such thing as too much moisture and you want to maintain the human hair average natural ph levels as much as possible.

You're Not Going Crazy - Your Hormones Are!

PMS is something that many women have 'learnt to live with' - accepting monthly changes to their mood, appetite, energy and sleep patterns as an annoying but inescapable part of life. In Australia, it is estimated that up to 75% of women experience PMS at some time, with 18% of women suffering the more severe form - premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). PMS and PMDD are often poorly diagnosed or treated. These conditions can have a severely detrimental effect on your life. The good news is PMS can be easily and effectively treated with diet, exercise and Natural Medicines.

What causes Premenstrual Syndrome?

The psychological symptoms

Studies show that women with PMS have lower levels of progesterone and allopregnanolone (a hormone that positively affects mood and behavior throughout the menstrual cycle), with elevated oestrogen during the luteal phase - the time period beginning with the day after ovulation and running through the remainder of your menstrual cycle. Lower levels of allopregnanolone, therefore, may contribute to the mood disorders many women experience in the premenstrual phase. Mood symptoms are further exacerbated by the elevated levels of oestrogen as oestrogen stimulates the Central Nervous System, making you ONE FIESTY MAMMA!

The physical symptoms

Although the physical symptoms of PMS are well recognised, the combinations of neurological and endocrine factors that cause these symptoms are not necessarily well understood. For example, elevated prolactin is associated with breast tenderness, fluid retention and irritability. Prolactin naturally elevates during the luteal phase and may be further increased by oestrogen, stress and hypoglycaemia (blood sugar imbalances).

Aldosterone also contributes to symptoms of fluid retention, contributing to weight gain and bloating. Neurological factors, including altered endorphin activity, combined with subclinical hypoglycaemia are thought to trigger food cravings, binge eating and fatigue.

Natural Medicine to the rescue...

Along with dietary changes, Mother Nature has provided a solution. Herbs such as, Bupleurum, Angelica & Vitex are effective treatments for PMS.

Bupleurum is effective for women who suffer predominantly from mood changes and psychological stress due to hormonal imbalance and whose PMS is worse when they are stressed.

Angelica and Vitex are beneficial for those with premenstrual symptoms that are more associated with physical discomfort and pain, fatigue, coldness, weight gain and menstrual irregularities. Vitex agnus-castus helps to bring relief to both physical and psychological symptoms.

Various studies have demonstrated that Vitex supplementation significantly improves premenstrual symptoms over a period of three months. One study showed that symptoms of irritability, breast fullness and bloating were improved by 50%, whilst 93% of 1634 participants reported an improvement of symptoms including depression, anxiety, food cravings and fluid retention.

Finally disorders such as fibroids, ovarian cysts and endometriosis can benefit by herbs such as cinnamon & Red Sage to relieve congested, painful and heavy menstruation. This blend of herbs effectively treats menstrual irregularity, oestrogen excess and dysfunctional uterine bleeding related to congestive female disorders such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Red sage and warming herbs, such as evodia, ginger, cinnamon and dong quai, have a decongesting and regulating effect on menstruation. So if you are finding that each month PMS rules your life, perhaps it's time you turned to 'Mother Nature' for a helping hand.

The Low Down on the Down Undies

We have come a long way since the origins of simple woven loincloth. Our burdens with uncomfortable, oversized and over heated underwear our great grandmothers had to endure seemingly dissolved with "the vote.'' Opting for more comfortable styles, we then further "liberated" ourselves to express our femininity and sexuality and perhaps as some say sacrificing comfort again for the evolution towards the G-string of today. Our intimates were all about expression and comfort until the scientists came. Yes...invite a few scientists into any mix and now we're talking a whole new boudoir! Here's five ways the scientists plan to mess about in your underwear drawer.

1...Surf and turf...

We are truly living in a disposable world, apparently right down to our knickers. Yet on second thought there are some very practical applications for disposable underwear. Aside from the convenience factor the manufacturer's claim in relation to travel they do provide a sanitary and comforting option in disasters and emergencies. Remember your mother telling you to wear clean underwear in case you have an accident and have to go to the hospital? Well toss that saying out the window, because now there is no reason why hospitals can not comfortably restore your dignity with these affordable disposable alternatives.

In addition, what survivor of a natural disaster deserves to wear hand-me-down underwear because that was all that was available? After the Katrina aftermath, this alternative may have the Red Cross thinking about these products! They were passing out medical attention, food and comfort... yet fresh underwear was seemingly overlooked and a priceless commodity for anyone involved.

These alternatives average around a dollar a piece, and you can purchase them in a variety of styles: classic briefs, bikini briefs, boxers and hey they even come as ankle socks too! Touted as natural, breathable and cool: this earth friendly bio-degradable garment is made of light weight, soft, breathable cotton. And if the frugal side of you kicks in, they can even be washed a few times. There are not hard at all to find, there are a few North American outlets you can purchase them from, just search for "disposable underwear" on the net.

2...Save energy, wash them once a month...

Yes, you heard me correctly and once you get over the "yuck" factor, again in retrospect there are indeed some very practical applications. I am talking to any of you ladies who has ever had to open a gym bag for the first time in who knows how long. You are going to be grateful for this type of fabric invention whose prototype by the way, was tested on the space station and kept on the butt for 30 days with no foul complaints. After all anti-gravity and dirty knickers just don't mix. I am talking about a new anti-bacterial underwear called J-wear designed to keep foul odors at bay as well as repel static and wick away water. It leaves a girl to wonder what former space station visits were actually like to necessitate such a specialized invention. Manufactured by the globally based Toray Industries Inc and currently not on the "in-this-world" market just yet, but you know it is coming soon.... maybe just in time for the 2010 Olympics, where the fabric's wicking attributes will be well needed!

3... They are our friends...

We would highly doubt that our intimates are anything but our nemesis every time they "ride up" on us and we find ourselves squirming in our chairs uncomfortably; however nano-technology laced undies provides a claim as "girl friendly" briefs able to rub away body fat quite literally. Teijhn Fibers Ltd. has invented a polyester called Nanofront(TM) originally designed to polish industrial tools. This same fabric also claims the uncanny ability to buff away unwanted body fat as well! Say what?

The company claims that, "the texture feels soft to the skin, and reduces irritation drastically. It is suitable for a variety of applications, including functional sportswear, inner wear, skin care products, antibacterial filter, precision grinding cloth, etc." (Only a scientist would feel comfortable clumping those attributes together in one sales pitch without batting an eye.) Teijin makes further claims that in test studies, people who have worn the Nanofront(TM) underwear for 40 consecutive days have experienced lowered body fat by several percent and consequently a reduced waist size by several centimeters.

All giggling aside, this fabric has pretty amazing attributes. A single strand of this fiber is 7.5 thousand times smaller than a strand of hair, yet the unevenness of the fiber's surface generates a greater friction allowing for very little slippage or movement. Your briefs will be staying put! Nanofront is also 200,000 times more flexible than regular polyester fibers and it has excellent cooling properties, as well as it absorbing and diffusing perspiration quickly. Now we're talking girl friendly underwear, pass the nano-briefs please... but skip the bra, I need to hold onto what little I have, thank you!

4...Saving you on nail polish...

Moving onto an underwear of a different kind yet no less frustrating; our scientist friends may have the solution in the works to deal with those pesky runs in the nylons.

Who hasn't silently pursed their lips when a fingernail ripped through a brand new pair of stockings being pulled on and were forced to dab on nail polish in hopes of halting the run. We could only pray at that moment that it wasn't our last pair! Wishing there would be a more durable nylon that was still lightweight and comfortable. How does a self repairing material sound?

It is not on the market quite yet, but it is showing some surprisingly positive results in the lab at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA It comes in the form of a poly(ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) copolymers (EMAA). In simpler terms it is a plastic and relatively cheap to produce, with this unique and exciting ability to heal itself. This plastic holds the potential for revolutionizing the way materials are engineered for different applications and it is fast stuff, quicker than you can whip out a bottle nail polish. Scientists tried to capture the healing process using a high-speed camera, but the event happens almost instantaneously. Aside from nylons, (which is at the moment low on the priority scale) there is an interest in this fabric being incorporated in space technology, and bullet proof jackets as well.

5...Tights on a different scale...

As if nano-fabric, self healing polymers, and anti-bacterial threads weren't enough a technological wonder to get any girl's head spinning, how about a fabric that emits infra-red rays that reduces cellulite? I bet that has your eyebrows raised! And this marvel is on the market right now, but is such a hot commodity you had better cross your fingers it is not sold out at the moment. These intimates are called Scala Bio-Fir leggings, (they also come in pants) and currently sold at John Lewis who reports that the anti-cellulite pants sold out within 30 minutes of going online.

The Bio-Fir hosiery is said to have the capacity to smooth out orange peel skin. It's scientific explanation goes as follows: the fabric contains crystals that emit infra-red rays and once they come into contact with the skin these infra-red rays induced an increase in the metabolism in the skin cells by warming them up. This creates an increase in the blood flow in the skin which in turn causes the fat layers that make up the cellulite to melt into a liquid, which the body can eliminate. The leggings are claimed to be most effective if worn for six hours a day for a continuous 30 days.
Now as winter approaches, there are some ladies in the north with a big smile on their faces at the moment. I am not sure how you ladies of the south are going to take to such a product though. There is no end to the suffering and endurance required in the name of beauty, is there?

Indeed, science has come a long way with practical applications for textiles of today. It is equally amazing that in their pursuit of aerospace advancement and artillery protection, that they have not forgotten the finer things in life as well... us ladies and our intimates. Which just proves that we do fit quite high on the priority scale, and one might be able to argue that as long as we make our voices heard, it is no longer a man's world.

CHICKMELIOMfreelance ...writing from the heart and mind of experience. Useful and practical tips go a long way in enhancing your looks. Some of the practical tips are:

1. Foundation forms the base of the face makeup and is applied after the face has been cleansed and moisturized. Wait for a few moments for the moisturizer to be absorbed before applying the foundation. Use your fingertips or a damp sponge to dab small dots of the foundation on the forehead, nose, and cheek and chin area and blend well right into your hairline and jaw line.

2. Blending is the key to good makeup and cannot be stressed enough as proper blending will give a natural look to the face and not leave blotches here and there. Blot your face gently with tissue paper to absorb the excess foundation.

3. A concealer is a very versatile piece of cosmetic as it can hide pimples, scars, dark circles and blemishes on the face. Apply the concealer on the desired spot and spread it towards the edges and do not over-apply it as it will then look too obvious an attempt to hide some flaw.

4. Before putting on the eye shadow, apply a base of neutral color on the eyelids and do not try to match the eye shadow with your outfit. The eye shadow should suit your skin color. Dab the eye shadow on the entire length of the eye lid starting from the inside and moving outwards. 2 or 3 colors of eye shadow can be used together but some expert blending is required to give a smooth look. Stick to lighter or neutral colors for day wear but for the evenings, experiment with brighter, bolder colors or the smoky, smoldering look.

5. The eyeliner should be drawn as close to the lash line as possible to give the impression of thicker eyelashes. Although black is the favorite color for the eyeliner, blue, brown or navy blue can look equally stunning. In fact, the color of your eyes can be brought out magnificently by using the right eyeliner.

6. Mascara can literally be termed the `magic wand` as it can be used to coat the most meager of eyelashes to give the effect of full, lush eyelashes. Wait for the first coat to dry before applying the next coat and then using a mascara comb, run it through the eyelashes to shake off the excess mascara. An eyelash curler is also an invaluable cosmetic aid but the curling should be done before the applying the mascara.

7. Chapped lips should be treated with a lip balm before applying lipstick. A thin base of foundation on the lips will allow the correct tone of the lipstick to show. Lips can be first outlined with a lip liner which is slightly darker than the lipstick color but of the same tone and then the lips can be filled in with the lipstick with a lip brush. The shape of the lips can be corrected with the help of the lip liner. Using a lip brush helps give an even coating of color to the lips. A lip gloss on the middle of the lips will give a fuller look to the lips.

8. The blusher should be chosen according to one`s skin tone. If using powder blusher, put some on the brush and shake off the excess powder before the application. Smile while applying the blusher and put it on with upward strokes towards the ears. Again, blending is the key to perfect application and for contouring the face.

So, the right face makeup can enhance any woman`s natural looks even if she is not Helen of Troy!

Weapons Defense For Women - Considering Everyday Objects

Weapons defense for women does not necessarily mean you have to carry pepper spray or pack a pistol. You have access to many everyday objects that can be used in a pinch with devastating effectiveness.

There are many advantages to using everyday objects as weapons.
They are easily accessible. This is important when most attacks are completed in seconds.

Everyday objects are nonthreatening. The attacker is more likely to be caught off-guard by your use of a ballpoint pen as opposed to a knife.

You may not comfortable with carrying traditional weapons such as pepper spray or a gun, but you probably would not think twice about carrying a couple ounces of cologne in a spray vial.

Unlike guns, no laws restrict your ability to carry a ballpoint pen or keys.

As any prison guard will tell you, with creativity and imagination nearly everything can be turned into a weapon.

In the event of attack, you want something you can use quickly and effectively.

Since you will not have time to rummage through your pocketbook, make it a practice to hold something in your hand that you can use to defend yourself.

Perfume or cologne in a spray vial can be used like pepper spray. It is probably not too surprising either that these are the stories of one's misspent youth that makes a person laugh in hindsight. I was fourteen at the time and dressed up to the nines and thought I was "as smart as a rat with a gold tooth" as my Uncle Jock used to say.
My Grandmother always said "pride cometh before a fall" and they were both right as usual. I was off to the pictures on a sunny Saturday afternoon and I was going to meet my boyfriend outside the theatre because I wasn't supposed to be 'dating' any boy. Back in those days (early-mid 60's) here in Australia we still called the movies the pictures. They were always called that until the advent of a lot of TV programs from America came in on our TV's and slowly "the pictures" has slowly disappeared from our language. However, that's another story.

I met up with my girlfriend and she dutifully admired my attire. We were both as excited as two hens on the one nest and weren't paying too much attention between giggles and shared hopes as to where we were walking. I wasn't very experienced at that time with wearing high heels and even though by most standards they wouldn't be considered 'high' they were much higher than a bare foot kid from the country was used to balancing on. We were about to cross the street to the picture theatre when disaster struck.

My friend pointed my boyfriend out waiting for me in front of the picture theatre and he saw us about the same time and waved. I waved back just as I stepped off the footpath onto the road and stepped on the side of a pot-hole in the bitumen and down I went, landing like a cat on all fours.

I heard this terrific rip and felt my knee go straight through my nylon stocking, my handbag went flying out in front of me onto the road and my beautiful yellow frock was smeared with black bitumen stains! My boyfriend hurried over and helped me up just as another girl walked by with her friend and noticed who I was meeting there and said sarcastically "You have really fallen for him, haven't you?" and the pair of them giggled all the way across the street. I was too mortified and embarrassed to even feel the hurt from my grazed and bleeding knee and my hands stung with gravel rash.

I couldn't go home again and change because there wasn't time and my friend had already bought our tickets. So I went to the ladies room and cleaned up as best I could but I felt absolutely miserable and then sore. I never even got to hold hands with him because of the gravel rash on my palms. But when the lights went out he did put his arm around my shoulders (eventually!) and give me a cuddle. The anticipation of "will he, won't he" was adrenalin pumping stuff to a fourteen year old girl who had just taken off her stockings and was recovering from a most embarrassing situation.

Are women's stockings going through another revolution? Develop your equivalent of the old-boys' club by gathering useful contacts and work them.

Play sport to build friendships and strength. Being social creatures, welcome a break from your responsibilities to laugh, shape up and relieve stress, all at the same time.

Project a confident attitude by walking proudly and purposefully.

Be more natural and wear less makeup; men believe they are good enough without wearing masks and 6 inch heels.

Do your own thing without getting wrapped up in everyone else's business. Besides being exhausting, it distracts you. What do guys do? Watch the game, do less housework, and play more.

Stop telling your girlfriends all the intimate details of your relationship. You and your man should be a tight unit.

Be bold, and once you decide something, muster the guts to dive in and do it.

When threatened, flick a power-switch in your mind which spurs you to action.

If you choose to fight, commit fully.

If someone is trying to hurt you, dive in with enthusiasm and hurt them back.

Do not give up at the first hurdle. Keep trying or change tactics.

Develop a thicker skin. As Donald Trump says, "It is not personal, it is business." Taking things to heart comes with being sensitive, but the escalating emotions side-track you from what matters.

Show what you can do without being coy.

Communicate briefly without digressing, especially when talking to men. Avoid getting lost in your story by cutting it down to 25 words or less. After two minutes, men zone out and stop listening. Think how much more influence you would have with your boss or your boyfriend, if they heard you.

Say what you mean in a straightforward manner. People cannot read your mind so ask clearly for what you want and avoid hints, metaphors and parables. To get men to listen, ask direct questions, and speak in terms of problems and solutions. Answer questions in a no-frills way and if more details are needed, elaborate.

Use less qualifiers. Women soften statements by adding unnecessary phrases like, "I sort of thought ..." and "In my opinion ..." Compare the following two statements: "In my opinion it would be more effective if we start now," and "It would be more effective if we start now." The latter packs more punch, especially in the work environment.

In a similar vein cut out 'um' and the inappropriate use of the word 'like'. Being certain conveys credibility.

In heated situations, stick to facts. Exaggerating/over-stating and being overly emotional minimises what you say, for example, "You ALWAYS leave the bathroom in a mess ..." Because that is not true, he reckons the rest of what you are about to say is along the same lines, and from then onwards hears nothing. Instead, make your point clearly and without laboring it, move on.

Take risks. Learn as much as you can about investments, sky-diving or whatever, and go for it.

Be patient with relationships. Instead of pushing your man into a corner, back off, lower the intensity in your voice and give up control.

Give people the benefit of the doubt. It implies trust, resulting in your relationships becoming stronger, healthier and happier.

Accept compliments without qualifying them. You deserve them.

Never be afraid to say no.

"None is Fun" Explained

Earlier in the week, my slightly dim-witted co-worker Jean interrupted me in the process of sending out some time-sensitive bid invitations to pass on the following bit of information. Apparently her friend had a dream that she (Jean) was three months pregnant, and from the look on her face as she was telling me, she was positively beaming at the thought of pregnancy (as if there was some spiritual connection between her friend's nocturnal rambling and an actual conception). Of course I had to pour some cold water on the fantasy and speak my mind; "Dream? Sounds like a nightmare to me." The poor woman looked positively dejected.

I don't know why she was surprised though, because it's no secret that I have no children and that baby showers, daily pregnancy updates and ultrasound pictures of fetuses does nothing for me short of putting me into a mild state of semi-coma. Before I get angry emails from the Moms, let me say that I don't dislike children, only that I have never wanted any of my own. In fact, anyone who knows me well will tell you that my maternal instincts + nurturing skills + child tolerance threshold = absolutely zilch.

There must not be many members of what I call the "None Is Fun Club" about these days, because I often find myself justifying my decision to remain childless as if it's some sort of character defect. It amazes me that in this day of enlightened womanhood I can hear a remark like "you're not a complete woman until you've had a child." Really? Who said that, someone trying to sell baby products? Private school tuition? Accident insurance? My answer to any type of "complete woman" remark is replying that no one is 'complete' until they're six feet under, which either brings a chuckle, or leaves them thinking I'm something that rhymes with "a witch". I'm often asked questions such as "don't you get lonely"? and I answer that I have plenty of friends for companionship and I also have a dog, which, unlike a child, doesn't talk back or ask me for money, clothes, a cell phone or a car. She's also less expensive to feed. One of the strangest comments by far was from a gentleman who suggested that being childless meant I wasn't leaving any legacy wherein I pointed out that, being childless, I will have no one to leave a legacy to. I then suggested he call a cab instead of driving while intoxicated.

In fact, the reason for my decision not to have children is very simple, but there are two very different versions; the version that looks good on paper and then the honest one. The version that looks good on paper is that I sacrificed Motherhood in pursuit of my career, personal aspirations and goals (for the most part, hogwash), and that I didn't feel I could make the long-term commitment and the sacrifices required to be a good parent (for the most part, the truth). The honest version is that, in order to be a good parent, you have to grow up yourself, and that's something that, even at my age, I'm still not prepared to do. There are enough "children having children" about; there's no need to add me to to the total number.

There's nothing wrong with "childless-by-choice". Parenthood isn't, and shouldn't be for everyone, and it's the wise person who can step back, look deep and face the truth. So, if you are one of those people who are thinking of going the childless route don't be dissuaded by people for whom parenting works; just say what I've been saying for years, "I'm a proud member of the 'None Is Fun Club' ". If truth be told, I'm sure there are more than a few parents who secretly wish they were holding their own Membership Card.

Natural Breast Enhancement and Age

Breasts sag with age as its tissues gradually gets worn. If nothing is done to check it, then it might eventually end up like the pair my granny had when she was 80.

No woman of beauty today can even imagine her breast becoming like that but it is only nature taking its due course. However when the hormone called estrogen is introduced into the body, it helps to build these tissues and the more tissues are built, the larger and fuller the breast become. In order words, the intake of estrogen through pills, herbal extracts and estrogen-rich foods would enhance the breast dramatically.

Estrogen supplements given on their own can trigger uterine cancer, but if a progesterone is given with it, the risk is virtually eliminated.

During menopause, there is a fall in estrogen production by the body. At this stage, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) may be required. This HRT may be a combination of estrogen and progesterone.

A number of foods and herbs are sources of natural plant estrogen, and may be very helpful during menopause. These foods are high in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and essential fatty acids. They are low in saturated fat. In order words they are nutritious and should be incorporated into normal diet. Some of them are:

Apples
Barley
Carrots
Cow-peas (black eyed peas)
Cucumbers
Eggs
Diary foods
Garlic
Hops
Oats
Papaya

Women beyond the stage of menopause should adopt pectoral exercises to help the breast maintain a firm and toned look. Swimming is one superb exercise for bust shape. It exercises the breast muscles considerably against the resistance of the water.

Image is Everything

A picture is worth a thousand words? So what are you really saying?

In the world of social networking sites, it has become easier and easier for young ladies to display images of themselves in less than modest appearance. Many networking sites that ask for profile pictures have females in next to nothing clothing, revealing body parts, and statuses revealing sexually suggestive language.

The problem is that many women don't seem to care about the message that some images may be saying. In fact, many men have commented that women that have revealing pictures on the internet's social networking sites, are viewed as easy, and as someone that they would never consider having a meaningful relationship with.

Here are a few questions a female should ask themselves before they post a picture on a website.

1. Does this image, truly represent the person I want to be?
2. Does this image, communicate that I am the type of person that engages in sexually risky behavior?
3. How would I feel if I were applying for a job, and an employer saw this picture?
4. Does this image indicate that I am a woman with self respect and self love

Another thing to consider is that sexual predators are very real, and prey on innocent victims of the internet. Parents- make sure your young teenagers and preteens are not posting inappropriate pictures of themselves- why create a target for someone that is out to do harm.

It may not seem that serious, after all it's just a picture some might say, however, but if a Picture is worth a thousand words- what does your picture say about you?

Are You a WONDER WOMAN?

Ok Ladies...you might look like Wonder Woman... or even have some of those really cool silver bracelets worn by the sexiest crime-fighter of all time, but we're gonna' need to keep it real for a minute.

Are you listening? Good. Onward!

It's not uncommon for women today to become a victim of crime. I won't plaster a bunch of horrible statistics here in this article, but I know... and YOU know that the world is full of crooks, liars, and evil doers bent on making your life miserable just to fulfill their selfish needs. And the Bad Guys really could care less about how you're gonna feel after it's over. Wouldn't you agree?

Ok... we're making progress.

This one thing you gotta' do every day (even before you put your make-up on, check your e-mail, or eat breakfast) is think about the possibility that today could be the day that some knuckle-head is going to try to hurt you. You need to at least have a plan to protect yourself from becoming another statistic. (I promise I won't bore you with statistics. Just know that a BUNCH of women are victims of crime every single day in America!)

Stop wondering about what could happen to you and start gaining some confidence with a little help from a few "tools" of the trade. For example, did you know that pepper spray is a very effective defense against an attacker? Yeah Buddy! You need to see the newest style of pepper spray for women... Lipstick Pepper Spray!
That's right... a blast of the hottest liquid pepper, straight from a tube of the most common item in a woman's purse. Talk about a "secret weapon"!

If Wonder Woman needed lipstick... this is the one she would be carrying!

Take a look at for yourself at this cool new fashion accessory.

Frequently Asked Questions on Hair Extensions

a) Tips and Tricks for Liquid Bonding Adhesives:

Frequently Asked Questions on Hair Extensions

You must have noticed that over the past few years hair extensions have become so significantly a popular thing. Other indescribable unseen such occultism, voodoos, and spiritism are also on the increase.

I will like to hammer on radio, television, internets, films and magazines.

To follow good things in our time is not easy as to unbelievers and backsliding Christians. Many at times even some Christians are posted with choosing between good and evil when the need arises. I know you will agree with me in our presence world situation, how sex is openly portrayed and displayed without check. Talked about freely, watched on TV's, in films (porno), in magazines; free sex raiding the youth.

It is quite amazing that some people will like to say it is not easy to remain a virgin in the mist of all these sexual confrontations. Even though humanly true, it is never the solution on the Christian platform. Despite the various emotional stirrings due to numerous sexual appealing; we are still commanded to flee youthful lust and fornication and rather pursue virtue- I Corinthians 6:18, II Timothy 2:21-22

The Bible still continue to admonish us to purge ourselves. It is a new time of rights and freedom for women and for spirituality. However our society based on a patriarchal (or male) focus has no understanding or framework for women's wisdom or the Feminine Divine. As women we are beginning to rebuild our relationship with our own unique divinity. To do this we are borrowing from other traditions and delving into our own inner knowing, past life and genetic memory and guidance from Spirit teachers.

There are some wonderful treasures rising up from the depths, new understanding of women's natural ways, our magic comes in gentle but powerful flows and learning how to tune into them and flow with them slows a woman down, and brings her into alignment with the Truth of Who She Is.

One of these aspects of Women's Magic, is the Triple Goddess. The Triple Goddess identifies the three aspects of women's beingness. The Maiden, The Mother and The Crone. Often taught as the three phases in a woman's life, they are much more than that. These three sacred aspects show themselves in daily life, in moods that women shift into at any given time and states of Being that women can enter to empower a project that they are working with. This is ancient knowing that women have held through the ages. For clarity, I will outline each of the three aspects.

The Maiden: This is a playful, lighthearted state of being. It is very social, sexual and innocent. It is a wonderful time of new beginnings, discovery, curiosity and freedom. It is aligned with the season of Spring, the direction of East. It is prevalent in a women's daily life when she is hanging out with the girls (a pajama party or a shopping trip) and also in the seed planting and germination phase of new projects. Tuning into this flow is wonderful for the very early stages of new projects, or when you get too bogged down in a project to take you back to the state of playfulness that helps fuel a creation along. It also is wonderful for depression or when you get too bogged down in life.

The Mother: This is a loving, communal state of being. It is about deeper connections - to your lover, to your children, to your community. It is a time of giving and receiving. Not only does the Mother come into alignment with the deeper flow of communion, she carries the flow for her community. This is the time of fruition, the slow process of labour followed by wonderful gifts and outcomes. The projects that were just ideas in the Maiden state, are worked on and brought into the physical with the Mother energy. This is the state of manifestation. The Mother phase is aligned with the season of Summer, the direction of North if you are in the Southern Hemisphere and of South if you are in the Northern Hemisphere. It is prevalent when a woman is showing support for her loved ones, when gathering in times of grief, pain or celebration, in gestating, birthing and raising children (or businesses or other projects).

The Crone: This is the place of knowing, of wisdom (wisdom is knowledge gained through experience). It is what comes of perspective. The perspective of having completed a cycle and experienced the outcome. The Crone teaches, in her own time and in her own method. She does not answer or bow to others. She will share her knowing when it is right, not when others push. She is in line with the flow much more than being in line with other people. She resonates her truth and like a beacon will draw those to her that are ready for what she has to share. She will sit quietly, and smile calmly and when she speaks, only those who are able will listen and understand. The Crone phase is aligned with the season of Autumn and the direction of West. It comes into access when a project or life experience is completed and you are able to look back and learn from it. Tune into her flow when you are seeking perspective, distance and understanding.

While it is absolutely true that both men and women have access to the Divine Feminine and Triple Goddess, it is also true that as women, we have a much deeper relationship with these flows. Our very lives are built on these rivers of energy and to consciously open and develop our relationship with them, to learn how to work with them as true sources of magic and Truth is to grow into and know our deepest power.

Women's Self Defense - Denial Isn't Just a River in Egypt

One of the challenges in discussing self-defense training with women and girls is the denial factor. You know the conversation:

"I could never hurt anyone."

"That will never happen to me."

"I'm always safe."

"My husband, boyfriend (insert any male here) will protect me."

"I live, work, shop, etc. in a safe neighborhood."

"The class sounds great, but I just don't have the time."

And as they say, denial ain't just a river in Egypt.
The reality is that women's self-defense training is so much more than just learning to "hit someone." Self-defense training involves understanding the different types of crimes and learning to recognize the early warning signals of danger. Self-defense training teaches you how to create a safety plan. It teaches risk avoidance skills. It teaches you about body language, verbal skills and de-escalation techniques. And of course, it teaches you how to disable (not just hit) a predator so you can escape and survive.

The belief that "it will never happen to me" is dangerous. Our motto is to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. When you mentally and physically commit to your and your family's safety, you will be prepared if God forbid you are attacked. And if you are not attacked, if may just be because you were prepared. So, really, you lose nothing but gain everything in terms of both personal safety and confidence.

No one and no neighborhood is always safe. There is the potential every day to be targeted as a viable victim. By having the skills to recognize when you're in the crosshairs of a predator, it will give you an advantage in initiating your safety plan. Although we grew up on the fairy tales of the rescuing prince and the protective dwarves, the reality is that no one will protect you but you. Given the fact that most women know their attackers, the fairy tale rescue/protector mindset could get you killed. Do you have a plan when your protector becomes your attacker?

Ladies, Take Control Over Your Life!

Ladies there has never been a better time to take control over this chapter of your lives. Channel and there was this lady that came for a breast augmentation surgery. Her breast was actually firm and full and looked like two round balls had been stuck to her chest. Although they looked quite attractive and perky, it was obvious that they were not natural. She had done an augmentation on them before.

This lady works in the Adult movie industry and her breast is definitely one of the tools of her trade. Her need for continuous breast surgery may be understandable, but it goes with a lot of risk and expense.

I am a staunch advocate for natural breast enhancement because it is natural. It only takes time and effort to also grow your breast using time tested methods which produce verifiable results. There are women I have encountered who have undergone a program of breast enhancement which lasted for 6 to 9 months but at the end of it they got the breast size they wanted.

My personal research into breast enhancement methods has revealed that even men who want to grow their breast from a flat chest are capable of doing so.

If you have not come across any of my articles on breast enhancement you might be wondering how exactly people gain breast size and improvement. You may have been told or read somewhere about pills that people take that could grow bust. Indeed there are such pills but you have to be careful. Not all of them can do what they claim. Some are outright fakes.

For effective pills, there are ingredients or formulations they contain. Like other drugs, these are derived from natural sources such as plants. These plants contain phyto-estrogens that mimic estrogen in the body, producing similar reactions that occur when a women is undergoing hormonal changes in breast development.

There is information available now more than ever about ways you can grow your bust naturally and not resort to costly and dangerous surgery. All you need to do is to ask. There are forums on the web where discussions on natural breast enhancement can be found. Do a little bit of inquiry. Buy a book that will guide you on what to do.

My personal recommendation is to combine the use of effective pills with specific chest exercises. Also do breast massage with breast enhancement serums. Eat foods that are associated with breast growth. Lastly, be patient. Give it time to work. If a particular method is not working, try another. Find your perfect program- one that has fewer side effects on you.

Young Mother - The Journey to Freedom

Every young mother knows how the journey starts. It begins from bringing forth a rare gem from within. A being that is so beautiful and cuddling that makes a mother swell with love, tears and joy. A baby is wonderful and a blessing to humans.

Although she possesses something that is so precious, uncertainty lies in as to what will happen to herself and her treasure. She loves her baby and wants the best for him but mentally she knows that the task ahead is daunting and fear grips her but afterward love, a way to victory, sets in and then the journey to freedom begins.

Every Journey has obstacles set in its path and these obstacles are faced by the young mother. These obstacles are many but some of them include:

I. Financial Obstacles The young mother needs to sustain herself during the journey. She needs finance or what we call money as she has to sustain herself as well as her baby (her treasure). Her baby is going to grow during the journey and needs all the love and care he or she can get to grow into splendor. Moreover, the young mother has to think of ways to achieve this and it's not an easy task.

ii. Emotion Obstacle Man does not act on logic but emotion for we are emotional beings. As a young mother, her emotions are constantly in battle. She might realize as time goes on in the journey that she has to learn to control her emotion

For instance those she calls her friends might suddenly abandon her to thread this path alone and this might make her scared, lonely and disappointed. Furthermore, she might be supported by her parents with love and care but the reality soon dawns on her that only she is the captain.

She is aware that it takes hard hard work, diligence, perseverance and discipline to achieve the state of control.

Other obstacles come her way which she must face but one thing for sure is that she has to determine one thing and that's whether she will succeed or fail? She must answer the question for her sake and her child.

Many young mothers are on this journey, some have given up but others have achieved freedom.

For young mothers who are out there, I have but to tell you:

1. You can achieve anything if you believe in yourself and dream big.

2. Have mentors probably matured mothers who have gone through this journey to direct you so that you can be prepared mentally.

3. Have objectives and goals. This is very important for they let you know where you are going. Set objectives for yourself. I suggest you discuss with your parents or mentors to assist you in drafting your goals.

4. Read books on different areas of your life. You are on a journey and you need all the information you can get. Read books on finances, taking care of babies, health and everything that pertains to you.
